That last post is depressing and long. Sorry.
Saturday was my aunt's birthday, and since I am living here with her and my uncle and cousin, I got to join in on the festivities! For two hours in the morning we went for a "walk" with the dog. We live close to acres and acres of military land for the army base up here in Anchorage. Just up the street there is an opening in the gate. We took Dexter the dog and went in search of some moose. Of course, just because we were looking for them, we didn't find ONE. They are usually so prolific in this particular area of town that it was almost a comedy as we trudged along. 2 hours later, and my legs had almost fallen off. Hiking in the snow is nothing like hiking. It needs it's own word. It probably has it's own word in Inuit or Yupik...I will have to look into that.
